Driven by curiosity during the NFT boom, in 2022 I explored the underlying technology by creating "The Singledex Club", a collection of 5,000 unique pieces. The goal was to achieve maximum diversity through algorithmic randomization. I hand-drew multiple variants for each character trait (eyes, hair, accessories, ...), which were then assembled via code to produce 5,000 one-of-a-kind combinations.

The Narrative

The Singledex Club is a collection of unique single characters, each with its own distinct personality. The pixel art aesthetic pays homage to the nostalgia of classic Game Boy games.
The collection was originally intended to feature a character-driven social media narrative, showcasing each character’s distinct personality through digital storytelling (https://x.com/Singledex).

The Concept

The visual concept draws a parallel with both the swipe culture of the modern dating app, where users browse through catalogs of real people "collecting" matches, and the Pokémon games for GB. Much like a Pokédex, each character in this collection features its own bio and specific traits, turning the dating experience into a gamified digital catalog.
